Type: Apartment
Area: Centre
Price: €2450
Sqm: 103m2
Bedrooms: 4

PLEASE NOTE: Temporarily available and viewings and questions only possible through e-mail.

A light, spacious apartment of 103m2 located on the fifth floor of the Vierwindenhuis complex, with unobstructed view over the water. Family home with 1 double bedrooms, 3 children’s bedrooms, a bathroom, beautiful openplan kitchen/diner and separate sitting room. Located on the island of Wittenburg in the North East corner of the central ring of canals.

The area is very quiet, yet centrally located. The building is at the end of the Wittenburg peninsula and as a result has virtually no traffic. Around the corner a football cage and playground for children; just down the road is the award winning Alan Turing school. It is a short distance from Central Station, Czaar Peterstraat, Marineterrein, Plantagebuurt and bustling East (Java Straat and Dapper Buurt. The Eastern Islands are becoming increasingly popular, on the other side of the water is the completely renovated Oostenburgereiland. The Van Gendthallen will soon make the neighborhood even livelier. In the summer, sports enthusiasts swim laps at the Marineterrein (600 meters away).

There are excellent public transport connections (tram 7, 26 and bus 22). Also quick access to the IJ tunnel and the Piet Hein tunnel. Parking is available directly next to the building on the public road.

The Vierwindenhuis is an unusual housing complex conceived by the Florentine architect Piero Frassinelli and Amsterdam philosopher Fons Elders. It has 89 of different sizes and also four common areas (the ‘towers of the castle’). In the red tower you will find a communal café where residents can meet, but which can also be rented privately for a birthday or dinner. In a blue tower you will find a sauna and fitness room, which are available privately upon registration. The other areas are a winter garden and a small concert hall where music performances are organised. Social activities (such as a dinner evening in the communal café with a resident as cook or a Halloween party for children) are regularly organised, of course only for those who wish. The green inner garden is an oasis of tranquility and is professionally maintained.

The building has a strong community with most residents living here for many years.

LAYOUT

The apartment can be reached via two entrances, one goes to the lift the other directly to a stairwell. From the stairwell entrance you enter the spacious openplan kitchen-diner with windows on both sides of the building, on one side an unobstructed view over the water and Oosterburger Island, on the other side a view over the courtyard and garden.

The kitchen is equipped with a large refrigerator/freezer, an electric oven, a 5-burner gas stove, espresso machine, soda stream, toaster, juice press, Quooker tap, dishwasher, washing/dryin combi  machine.

To the left of the kitchen/diner you will find the sitting room with TV. On the right you will find the hallway to the bathroom, with bath, shower and double sink, the separate toilet and the bedroom with a slightly raised double bed overlooking the water. At the end of the corridor you will find the hall with the ‘rear’ entrance (towards the elevator) and the 3 children’s rooms.

The smallest room is a sweet room for a toddler with a bed of 150x70cm and a large bookcase. There is a room with a raised single bed, a desk, two cupboards and a door to the communal balcony. The third room has a high, wide single bed, a desk, a large cupboard and windows looking out into the hallway meaning it is a light room despite having no windows directly to the outside.

There is a shared balcony around the apartment and every room has a door leading to this.

PARTICULARITIES

  • Spacious bright apartment of 103 m2 with 4 bedrooms
  • Part of the Vierwindenhuis (apartment complex with 89 owner-occupied homes)Unobstructed view over the water and Oostenburgereiland

It is a very lived in family home. We are temporarily moving to England and will continue to live here on our return. We are open to discuss how exactly the apartment will be transferred, we can leave behind everything a family would need – bedding, kitchen, crockery, music, books etc or it can be made quite empty.

You can contact the owner via the module on the page and a viewing can be organized.
